Rightrun is an experimental software collective. We want to bring software back to a place where it feels expressive, curious, and personal. The modern web has drifted toward efficiency and predictability, often at the cost of creativity and user agency. Much of what people use today is shaped by closed systems and engagement-driven algorithms. We think it's time to push in a different direction.

We work by breaking ideas down to their fundamentals and building small, independent components that interest us. We don't follow a traditional product roadmap; we follow a compass that points toward experiences that feel more human, more intuitive, and a little less frustrating. If something sparks curiosity or reveals a chance to make someone's interaction with technology even slightly better, we explore it.

We believe that seemingly "useless" experiments often lead to the most important insights. Our process is simple: make, test, break, learn, repeat.

Our stance on openness is intentional. Open Core isn't a tactic for us; it is a principle. The essential logic of the systems we build, the algorithms and ideas that shape them, should be accessible to the public. Intelligence that affects everyone shouldn't be locked away. While we may build commercial products, the core foundations will remain open.

We work with Generative AI as a collaborator, not a replacement for human creativity. We're interested in interfaces and tools that evolve with the user, reduce unnecessary friction, and reveal new possibilities. We want to lower the barrier to building thoughtful, flexible systems and create software that encourages exploration instead of restricting it, software that quietly improves the way people experience work, creation, and the world around them.

This is the direction we choose: toward the new, the open, and the genuinely interesting, while building tools that remain practical, reliable, and useful in real-world work.
